Tangail, Mymensingh, Kishorganj, Jamalpur reach semifinals

DHAKA, Aug 23, 2025 (BSS)- Host Tangail, Mymensingh,  Kishorganj and Jamalpur districts reached women’s division semifinals of the National Kabaddi Championship.

The matches were held at Shaheed Maruf Stadium in Tangail today.
 
In the day’s women’s division group A matches, Tangail district beat Jamalpur district by 22-17 points. However, Jamapur district defeated Gazipur by 53-13 points to advance the last four spot  

In the group B match, Kishorganj beat Mymensingh by 38-27 points in their first match and defeated Manikganj district by 35-27 points in the second match. 

Mymensingh district qualified for the semi-finals by defeating Manikganj by 45-13 points in their first match.

In the men’s group, Kishorganj team defeated Jamalpur by 35-34 points in their first match and beat Sherpur distirct by 42-22 points in the second match.

In another match of men’s group, Tangail beat Gazpipur by 43-18 points while Mymensingh overpowered Jamapur by 46-17 points       

Seven teams in the men's division and six teams in the women's division are participating in the competition which is being held marking the Festival of Youth.

The competition of Brahmaputra zone in Tangail venue will conclude with the finals for both the men's and women's divisions tomorrow.
