CHATTOGRAM, May 17, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested three activists of banned student group Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) during a sudden midnight procession at Sultan Baper Bari area of Ward No-7 under Juldha Union in Karnaphuli upazila.

According to police sources, a group of 12 to 15 youths brought out the procession around 11.30 pm on Friday. The procession, which lasted three to four minutes, featured slogans such as "Joy Bangla, Joy Bangabandhu" and "Sheikh Hasina will return home, like a hero."

Karnaphuli Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Muhammad Sharif confirmed that police acted on information regarding the unauthorized gathering and detained three BCL activists from the spot.

One of the detainees has been identified Farhan, 22, son of Abdul Malek, also known as Ghora Malek, who is currently in custody on separate charges.
