KHULNA, May 18, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested a drug peddler and seized 12 kg of hemp from the Sachibunia area on Bishwa Road in the city last night. 

The arrestee was identified as Khairul Bashar, 50, son of Mustak Ahmad, resident of the Miarbazaar area under Choddogram upazila in Cumilla.

Khondokar Hossain Ahmed, Assistant Commissioner (Media) of Khulna Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest. 

Police interrogated the arrestee to identify the source of the hemp and others involved in the drug trade, he said, adding that a case was filed today under the Narcotics Control Act with Labonchara Police Station in this connection.
