Govt distributes 102 cows among small ethnic groups in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR, May 18, 2025 (BSS) - The government today distributed heifer calves among 102 small ethnic group people living in the plain land of Birol upazila of the district to improve their socio-economic condition and living standards.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) M Istiak Ahamed distributed the cows as the chief guest among the backward people at a function held Shyampur Government Primary School ground of the upazila.

The UNO said that the current interim government distributed the cows to make the underprivileged small ethnic groups self-reliant.

The cows were distributed with the funding of the NGO Foundation and the initiative of Chauliapatti Rural Development Organisation.

Executive Director of CPUS Baluadanga Dinajpur Jannatun Ferdous Eva presided over the function while Chairman of Mangalpur Union Parishad (UP) of the upazila Md. Abul Kashem was present as special guest.
