Youth killed in Cox's Bazar road accident

COX'S BAZAR, May 24, 2025 (BSS) - A motorcyclist was killed this morning as a covered van hit his bike in Chakaria upazila of the district.

The deceased was Mohammad Shahjahan, 38, son of Shamshuzzaman Bhuiyan of Kotwali Thana area in Cumilla district.

The accident occurred on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway around 10:30 am when a covered van hit a motorcycle parked near the Chakaria Government College intersection, leaving its rider Shahjahan critically injured.

He was rushed to Chakaria Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

Chiringa Highway Police Inspector Ariful Amin confirmed the matter.
