KCC evicts illegal establishments in Khulna

KHULNA, May 29, 2025 (BSS) – Khulna City Corporation (KCC) conducted drives in different areas in the city today (Thursday) and evicted illegal establishments on various roads and footpaths.

To ensure smooth and peaceful management of sacrificial animal markets, a KCC team, led by its Executive Magistrate, Kohinur Jahan, conducted drives targeting unauthorized occupiers on various roads and footpaths in the city.

The eviction operation by KCC took place today in various areas of the city, including Joragate, the Boyra Bazar intersection, and Sonadanga Bypass Road.

During the operation, the KCC team fined Tk 2,000 to Hotel owner Abdur Rahman at the Boyra Bazar intersection by evicting his makeshift restaurant set up on the road, and fined Tk 1,000 to Md. Helal Hossain, the proprietor of SS Point located at Sonadanga Bypass Road, by evicting his constructing grills on the footpath.

KCC's Estate Officer Gazi Salauddin, and police personnel from KMP, participated in the eviction drive. The initiative will continue in the public interest, according to KCC officials.
