2 commercial establishments fined for food adulteration in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, May 29, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) today fined two commercial establishments for selling adulterated  and date expired food items in different areas of the city.

CCC executive magistrate Chaiti Sarvabidya conducted the anti-adulteration drive in cooperation with BSTI and police personnel this afternoon and fined the owners of the two commercial establishments at city’s Madarbari and Halishahar Road area.

During the drive, the court collected Tk 25,000 as fine from Madarbari Foods in Madarbari area and Tk 15,000 from ‘Medina Bakery and Confectionery’ at city’s Halishahar area for producing and selling adulterated food items.

CCC authorities said that such operations will continue regularly to protect public health.
