3 women detained with 3,900 pieces of Yaba in Satkania

CHATTOGRAM, May 31, 2025 (BSS) - A joint forces team conducted a raid and 
detained three women with 3,900 pieces of Yaba at 'Sofi Villa of Keochia 
Union under Satkania upazila of the district on Saturday afternoon.
 
The arrested women are Nur Nahar Begum, 45, her daughters Sharmin Akhter, 14 
and Saima Sultana, 18, all the residents of Teknaf Municipality of Cox's 
Bazar. 
 
The joint forces also seized 15 SIM cards, seven voter ID cards, 15 birth 
registration cards, an android mobile phone and two check books of Teknaf 
branch Krishi Bank under Cox's Bazar district from their possession.

The estimated market value of the recovered Yaba is about Taka 11.70 lakh. 
 
Law enforcement agencies said that the women had been operating an illegal 
Yaba business in a rented house in Satkania for a long time. 
 
Based on information from the National Security Intelligence (NSI), the joint 
forces conducted a raid and made the arrests. 
 
Officer-in-charge of Satkania Police Station Jahedul Islam, mentioned that 
preparations are underway to file a drug case.
