PANCHAGARH, May 31, 2025 (BSS) - A pillion rider was killed and the motorcyclist injured today in a road accident in Tetulia upazila of the district.
The deceased was identified as Hasan, 25, son of Shafikul Islam of Baniapara village under Debnagar union. The injured rider is Siam, 15, son of Amirul Islam from the same village.
According to locals, Siam was riding the motorcycle with Hasan as passenger. While taking a turn near Bhajanpur area of the upazila, the motorcycle collided with a sand-laden tractor. Both fell on the road and the tractor ran over Hasan.
They were rescued and taken to Panchagarh Adhunik Sadar Hospital, where the on-duty doctor declared Hasan dead.
Nazir Hossain, Inspector (Investigation) of Tetulia Model Police Station, confirmed the incident. He said the tractor was seized with the help of locals and legal proceedings are underway.
