Discussion held in Monohardi marking martyrdom anniversary of President Ziaur Rahman

NARSINGDI, June 1, 2025 (BSS) - A discussion meeting and ‘Doa Mahfil’ was held today in Monohardi marking the 44th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, Bir Uttam.

Monohardi Upazila and Municipality units of BNP and its affiliated bodies organised the discussion with former General Secretary of Monohardi Upazila BNP and ex-Mayor Alhaj Abdul Khaleq in the chair. 

Taking part in the discussion, leaders of the BNP and its associated bodies paid glowing tribute to the memory of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, who proclaimed the independence of the country and the pioneer of multi-party democracy. 

Former Secretary of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) and Assistant Volunteer Affairs Secretary of National Executive Committee of BNP Abdul Kader Bhuiyan Jewel was present as the chief guest. 

Former Organising Secretary of Upazila BNP Bashed Molla Bhutto, BNP leaders- Alhaj Rehan Uddin Renu, Joynal Abedin, Kalam Master, Ohidullah, Din Mohammad, Altab Master, Oliullah, Shamim, Shafiqul Islam, Billal Hossain, Municipal BNP leaders Abdul Mannan Prodhan, Akram Hossain, Karim Master, Monir Akand, Monir Hossain, Kalam, Ukil Mia, and Robi Mia were also present, among others.

The event was conducted by Mahmudul Haque, Joint Convener of Monohardi Upazila BNP.

The speakers recalled the life, ideals and contributions of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman for the country and offered Munajat seeking eternal peace for his departed soul.
