Army detains 4 drug peddlers, recovers live bullet

BOGURA, June 2, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Army detained four suspected drug peddlers, including a woman, and seized drugs, weapons, live ammunition, and cash during a special anti-drug block raid in the railway colony area of the district.

Army officials familiar with the matter said the seven-hour operation was carried out from 2am to 9am on Monday. At least 50 houses were searched during the drive. 

Led by Captain Jan-e-Alam Sadif and Lieutenant Al Fahad, a total of 50 army personnel took part in the raid. 

During the drive, the army recovered one live bullet, 1000 bottles brewed liquor, 2 kilograms of ganja, 25 locally made weapons, and Taka 10 lakh in cash. 

Captain Jan-e-Alam Sadif said preparations are underway to file cases against the detainees. All seized items, including the cash, have been handed over to Bogura Sadar Police Station.
