Father, two sons killed in Tangail road accident

TANGAIL, June 3, 2025 (BSS) - At least three people were killed and three others injured when a microbus hit a standing truck at Karatipara bypass areas on the Dhaka-Tangail Jamuna Bridge highway this morning.

The deceased were identified as Amjad Hossen, 65, and his two sons, Ratul, 14, and Atul, 26, hailed from Sherpur Sadar upazila.

The accident took place at karatipara bypass area of Basail upazila at 
9am.

The deceased were heading toward their Sherpur village home by a microbus to celebrate Eid.  The microbus lost control and hit a standing truck on the road from behind when it reached Karatipara. Amjad Hossain and his two sons died on the spot, said Officer in Charge (OC) Jalal Uddin of Basail Police Station.

The injured were admitted to Tangail Medical College Hospital and the bodies of the deceased were kept at Tangail General Hospital for autopsy.
