Firearm, bullets seized in Jibannagar border

CHUADANGA, June 3, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) recovered an Indian-made pistol and five rounds of bullets during a raid at Samanta village under Jibannagar upazila of the district early this morning.

Acting on a tip-off, a BGB patrol team from Samanta Border Outpost (BOP) conducted the operation around 4 am, 200 yards inside Bangladeshi territory from border pillar 59/3-S, said a BGB press release today.

During the operation, the BGB team spotted two individuals who fled toward the Indian side upon being challenged. The suspects left behind a bag. After searching the bag, the team found the pistol and bullets, the release added.
