NAOGAON, June 3, 2025 (BSS) - A man was killed in a road accident this morning in front of the Muktijoddha Complex in Dhamairhat upazila of the district.
The deceased was identified as Abdur Rashid Chowdhury, 60, a retired army man and son of late Habibur Rahman Chowdhury of Biharinagar area under the same upazila.
Abdul Malek, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Dhamairhat Police Station, said the accident occurred around 11:30am on the Dhamairhat-Patnitala road when a sand-laden truck ran over the man, leaving him dead on the spot.
Police arrested the truck driver, the OC added.
