Two die after falling from fishing vessel in Karnaphuli River

CHATTOGRAM, June 3, 2025 (BSS)- Two people died after falling from a fishing vessel named 'FV Seaheart-1' in the Karnaphuli River last night .

The deceased were - fishing vessels crew members Sukani Mohammad Altaf, and the chief cook Nur Uddin, Both hailing from Hatiya upazila in Noakhali district. 

Nazim Uddin, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadarghat Naval thana said that the incident occurred when one fishing vessel was towing another one. At that time, a rope snapped, causing the two men to lose their balance and fall into the river.


Their bodies were later recovered and sent to Chattogram Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, OC said.
