FARIDPUR, June 4, 2025 (BSS) - Five people, including father and son, were killed and two others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a three-wheeler at Bablatala area under Bhanga upazila of the district this morning.

The deceased were identified as Mizanur Matubbar, 50, son of Latif Matubbar of Chowkighata village in Gharua union of Bhanga, Ebrahim Saadrer, 70, and his son Monir Sarder and Tara Mia, 50, son of Badsha Mia, residents of Madbarchar village in Shibchar upazila of Madaripur district.

The accident took place on the Dhaka-Barishal highway around 7.00 am when a bus collided head-on with a three-wheeler, leaving four three-wheeler passengers dead on the spot and three others injured, said M Rakibuzzaman, Officer-in-Charge of Bhanga Police Station.

The injured were taken to a local hospital where another succumbed to his injuries.
