Khulna administration takes measures for peaceful celebration of Eid

KHULNA, June 04, 2025 (BSS)- Local administration has taken all required measures for smooth and peaceful celebration of the Eid-ul-Azha in this city.

It was told in the monthly meeting of the law and order committee held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner’s conference room here today.


The meeting discussed several important issues including the completion of the construction work of the Gallamari Bridge over the Mayur River, speedy implementation of repair work on the Sonadanga bypass road, maintaining law and order during the upcoming Eid, and curbing activities of robbers in the Sundarbans.

The meeting decided to provide police escort for cattle traders carrying cash money during Eid marketing. Under no circumstances mob violence would be allowed in Khulna, the meeting sources said.

It was told in the meeting that police have conducted two special drives to curb the circulation of counterfeit currency ahead of Eid, seizing fake notes of Taka 6.75 lakh. Measures would be taken to detect counterfeit notes in the cattle markets, it said.

Police also took steps to prevent reign of mugger in the city. 
In the back drop of dengue prevalence in the city and reported resurgence of COVID-19 in India, the meeting asked the health officials to take all preparatory measures to face any emergency.

In response, 20 beds were prepared at Khulna Medical College Hospital for COVID-19 patients, the civil surgeon said.
