3-tier security measures taken centering Eid-ul-Azha in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, June 4, 2025 (BSS) - A three-tier security measures have been 
taken in the port city and its adjacent areas centering the Eid-ul-Azha.

Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has also set up nearly 180 Closed 
Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras at different strategic points including 
different Eid markets, to monitor the security measures arranged for the city 
dwellers.

CMP Commissioner Hashib Aziz said its specialized units SWAT, dog squad and 
quick response team unit will be on standby around so that the law enforcers 
can deal with any problem.
 
He also said that strict security arrangements have been made for the Eid 
congregation. The entire system will be covered by CCTVs. He also advised 
those who are going to their village home during the Eid holidays to keep 
their valuables in a safe place.
 
He said this after inspecting the preparation of the Eid Jamaat at the 
Jamiatul Falah Jama Masjid ground in the Wasa area of the city recently.

During this time, the security of the Eidgah grounds was fully inspected by 
the CMP's sweeping team and K-9 squad.
 
All the entry points of the city like Shah Amanat Bridge, City Gate and 
Oxygen area have been brought under tight security measures with CCTV 
monitoring. Necessary instructions have also been given to search the 
suspicious persons at any points during the celebration period.

Saiful Islam Santo, superintendent of Chattogram district police, told BSS 
that Chattogram district police has also taken additional security measures 
in all 15 upazila headquarters from the previous day of Eid and that will 
continue for the following three days.

On the other hand, RAB-7 has taken all-out security measures to make the 
festival a total success, the RAB sources said.

Special diets will be served to the inmates of different hospitals, jails and 
Government Shishu Sadan on the Eid day, district Administration sources said.
