Madrasa teacher jailed until death for raping 6 students in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, June 4, 2025 (BSS)- A Chattogram court today sentenced a madrasa 
teacher to jail until death for raping six students in the city.
 
The Judge of Women and Child Repression Prevention Tribunal-7 Begum Ferdouse 
Ara passed the verdict convicting 41-year old Nazim Uddin, a director and 
teacher at the Rahmania Tahfizul Quran Academy in the city's Muradpur area, 
during the incident.

The court also fined him Taka five lakh, in default, to suffer one year more 
in jail.

The prosecution story, in short, is that the convicted Nazim raped the six 
students at different times between 2019 and 2021. 

Later, the elder brother of an 11-year old student of the madrasa filed the 
case with Panchlaish Thana on behalf of the six students.

Police submitted the charge-sheet against Nazim on November 4, 2021.

The court delivered the verdict in presence of the convicted person after 
examining 11 out of 21 prosecution witnesses.
