Father, son among 3 killed in Cox's Bazar road accident

COX'S BAZAR, June 16, 2025 (BSS) - Three people, including a man and his son, were killed and 10 others injured in a road accident in the Jetty Road area of Rashidnagar union in Ramu upazila of the district today.

The deceased were Habib Ullah, 55, his son Riyad of PM Khali Dakshin Patli area under Cox's Bazar Sadar upazila, and Rimjim Barua, 23, daughter of Himangsu Barua of Purba Rajarkul area in Ramu upazila.

The accident occurred on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway around 8 am when a bus collided head-on with a covered van, leaving three bus passengers dead on the spot and 10 others injured, said Tayabur Rahman, Officer-in-Charge of Ramu Police Station.

The injured were taken to a local hospital.
