Bagerhat BNP holds doa mahfil on Khaleda Zia's birth anniversary

BAGERHAT, Aug 15, 2025 (BSS) - Bagerhat district unit of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) today organized a milad and doa mahfil at Swadhinata Udyan marking the 81st birth anniversary of the party's chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. 

Prayers were offered seeking her good health and long life. 

The programme was presided over by district BNP convener Engineer ATM Akram Hossain Talim, with BNP executive committee member Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, executive member Advocate Wahiduzzaman Dipu, district BNP coordinator MA Salam and member secretary Mozaffar Rahman Alam present, among others. 

Speakers at the event said that during the long political movement, national leader Khaleda Zia had always played an uncompromising role for the country. They said that despite facing imprisonment, oppression and torture, she never bowed to injustice.

Milad and doa were conducted by Maulana Md Abu Bakr Siddique, while Prof Hadiuzzaman Hero moderated the event.

Similar programmes were also held at nine upazila and three municipal BNP offices in the district.
