CHATTOGRAM, Sept 2, 2025 (BSS)- A team of RAB-7 has captured a fugitive convicted murderer from the Shuklal Hat area in Sitakunda of the district. 
 
The arrestee was identified as Ashraf, 35, son of Abdul Motaleb Prakash Manik from Magadhara Union in Sandwip Upazila. He had been on the run since his conviction 10 years ago. 

According to RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director (Media) ARM Mozaffar Hossain, acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB carried out a drive in the Shuklal Hat area in Sitakunda and arrested Ashraf. He was sentenced to life imprisonment and fined Taka 10,000 in the murder case. 

The RAB later handed him over to the Sitakunda Police Station for further legal proceedings.
