Training on coffee, cashew nuts expansion held in Rangamati

RANGAMATI, Sept 2, 2025 (BSS) - A two-day training for sub-assistant agriculture officers began today in Rangamati under the Coffee and Cashew Research, Development, and Expansion Project.

The workshop organized by the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), was inaugurated at 10:30am at the DAE training hall. 

Rangamati Hill District Council Chairman Kajol Talukder attended the opening ceremony as chief guest and district DAE Deputy Director Md. Moniruzzaman chaired the program.

Speaking as the chief guest, Kajol Talukder noted the potential of coffee and cashew cultivation in the hill tracts and urged all stakeholders to support farmers in utilizing fallow lands for expanding coffee and cashew farming.

Sadar Upazila Agriculture Officer Shahanaz Parvin and acting Barkal Upazila Agriculture Officer Md. Rezaul Karim attended the event, among others.

Thirty sub-assistant agriculture officers from various upazilas, including Rangamati Sadar, Naniarchar, Kaptai, and Kaukhali, as well as from the Agriculture Information Service, participated in the workshop.
