RAJSHAHI, Sept 4, 2025 (BSS) - A student of Rajshahi University (RU) was killed in a tragic road accident in front of the Binodpur Gate, adjacent to the university campus, last night.
The deceased was identified as Iftekhar Islam Fahmin, 23, a student of the English Department under the academic session 2019-20. He was a resident of Dhaka.
According to police and witnesses, the accident occurred around 11:30 pm when a battery-run autorickshaw collided head-on with a motorcycle, leaving the motorcyclist Fahmin critically injured.
He was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH), where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Abdul Malek, officer-in-charge of Motihar Police Station, confirmed the incident and said the autorickshaw driver has been arrested in this connection.
