Two killed in Manikganj road accident

MANIKGANJ, Sept 4, 2025 (BSS) - Two persons were killed and two others injured today in a head-on collision between a truck and a CNG on the Hemayetpur-Manikganj Regional Highway near Singair Bus Stand in Singair Upazila of the district.  

The deceased were identified as Abdul Mannan, 23, son of Parosh Ali of village Nilua under Daulatpur Upazila, and Monir Hossain, 60, son of late Sherjan Mollah of village Kouri under Harirampur Upazila. 

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Singair Police Station J O M Towfique Azam said the accident occurred at 7:15 am when a goods-laden truck bound for Manikganj collided head-on with a CNG coming from the opposite direction, killing two on the spot and critically injuring two others. 

The injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, and the bodies were taken to the Manikganj Sadar 250-Bed Hospital morgue for autopsy. 

A case was filed with Singair Police Station, the OC added.
