Body of missing tourist found in Cox's Bazar after 15 hours

COX'S BAZAR, Sept 8, 2025 (BSS) - The body of a college student who went missing while bathing at the Cox's Bazar sea beach has been found after 15 hours.

The tourism cell of the Cox's Bazar district administration informed that the body of the college student named Zuhayer Ayman, 17, was recovered from the beach adjacent to Samity Para area at 6 am on Monday. 

Zuhayer Ayman is the son of Md. Shariful Islam, a resident of Ward No. 3 of Katnarpara of Bogura Municipality. 

Executive Magistrate (Assistant Commissioner) in charge of the district administration's tourism wing, Md. Azim Khan, said that three college students who had come from Bogura for a trip went to bathe at Laboni Point beach around 2:30 pm on Sunday. At that time, the three drowned in the sea due to heavy waves. 

Lifeguards rescued two people alive, but Ayman was missing. 

Md. Azim Khan said that the fire service and life guards conducted a joint search for him until late Sunday night. The body was found this morning.
