One arrested for smuggling Yaba in stomach in Teknaf

COX’S BAZAR, Sept 16, 2025 (BSS) – The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has arrested a youth from the Teknaf area of the district for smuggling Yaba in his stomach.

Commanding Officer (CO) of the 2nd Battalion of the BGB, Lieutenant Colonel Ashiqur Rahman, today said that when Zahidullah, 19, tried to flee from an auto rickshaw when the BGB personnel challenged him but he was caught red-handed from the Teknaf Sadar Hospital area on Monday afternoon. 

The BGB officials became suspicious of his abnormal behavior, took him to a hospital, and found the presence of some substance in his stomach after an X-ray.

Zahidullah later confessed to the BGB that he possessed 2,000 Yaba tablets within 40 small packets in his stomach.
These Yaba tablets were later recovered from his stomach through a special technique.

The BGB CO said that the arrested youth is a professional drug smuggler and has been involved in drug trading in this way for a long time. They handed over the arrestee, along with the seized Yaba, a mobile phone, and a power bank, to Teknaf thana.

Lawful actions were taken against the arrestee and similar operations against drugs and smuggling will continue in the area in the future.
