4 eateries fined Tk 85,000 in Nilphamari

RANGPUR, Sept 17, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court has fined four eateries Taka 
85,000 for manufacturing and selling food products without Certification 
Marks (CM) license and other reasons in Kishoreganj upazila of Nilphamari 
district.
 
The Rangpur divisional office of Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution 
(BSTI) and Kishoreganj upazila administration jointly conducted the drives at 
different places of the upazila on Wednesday, said a press release. 

Executive Magistrate and Kishoreganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Pritam 
Saha led the mobile court.

During the drive, the court fined Bhai Bhai Bakery at Kachari Bazar Taka 
25,000 and Top Number One Bakery at the Phaduapara area Taka 30,000 Taka 
respectively for not having Certification Marks (CM) license as per BSTI Act 
2018. 

In addition, the court fined Promiz Food Bakery at Moulvir Hat Taka 25,000 
for not having a packaging registration certificate. 

On the other hand, Baishakhi Hotel and Restaurant in Kishoreganj Bazar was 
fined Taka 5,000 under the Consumer Rights Act. 
  
The BSTI prosecutors were Field Officer (Certification Marks) Md Towhid Al 
Amin and Inspector (Metrology) Md Almas Mia.
