Indian citizen held with foreign liquor in Jashore

JASHORE, Sept 20, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested an Indian citizen with foreign liquor from Baulia Bazar in Sadar upazila this morning.
 
The arrestee was identified as Uttam Halder, 39, son of Jiban Halder of Old Bangaon area in West Bengal, India.
 
On information, a BGB team conducted a raid in the area around 6:30 am and arrested Uttam with 10 bottles of foreign liquor from Jashore-Narail highway, said BGB-49 Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Saifullah Siddiqui.
 
During primary interrogation, Uttam Halder said he was going to Dhaka from India via Jashore. 

The BGB commander said the detainee has been handed over to the Jashore Kotwali Police Station and a case has been registered in this regard.
