Huge smuggled goods seizure in Cumilla

CUMILLA, Oct 12, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized huge Indian goods worth Taka 44 lakh from different border area of the district. 

A BGB team conducted raids in the border areas of Shashidal, Saldanadi and Sankuchail in Cumilla and Kasba, Khadla and Madla in Brahmanbaria from Saturday night to Sunday morning. 

During the drives, the BGB team seized Indian cosmetics, auto parts, cows, basmati rice, fuska, mehndi and sarees worth Taka 44 lakh, said Sultanpur BGB-60 Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Md. Ziaur Rahman on Sunday afternoon.

The seized goods have been submitted to the Cumilla and Akhaura customs office after the legal process. 

Lt. Col. Md. Ziaur Rahman said that the BGB's operational activities and intelligence activities to prevent smuggling in the border areas are always ongoing.
