Indian fireworks worth Tk 26 lakh seized in Cumilla

CUMILLA, Sept 20, 2025 (BSS) - Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized a large consignment of illegal Indian fireworks worth Taka 26 lakh from the Banashua border area under Adarsha Sadar upazila of the district.

A special patrol team from Catackbazar Post under Bibir Bazar Border Outpost (BOP) conducted the drive in the bordering area on Friday evening, Cumilla Battalion (10 BGB) Commander Lieutenant Colonel Mir Ali Ejaz confirmed the matter in a press release this afternoon. 

During the operation, the BGB recovered 1,04,247 pieces of Indian-made fireworks.

BGB said the seized fireworks will be handed over to the customs authorities.
