BAGERHAT, Sept 26, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Coast Guard has organized a free medical camp titled ‘Youth Festival’ in Sarankhola upazila of the district for providing medical consultation to the disadvantaged people living in coastal and riverside areas.

Disclosing the information on Thursday afternoon, Coast Guard’s media officer Lieutenant Commander Siam-ul-Haque said as part of its ongoing humanitarian efforts, the Coast Guard regularly provides free medical services to the distressed and low-income people.

Coast Guard West Zone conducted a day-long free medical camp on Thursday from 10 am to 3 pm in the Solambaria area and its surroundings under Sarankhola Thana.

More than 200 helpless, distressed people and children received free medical consultations along with necessary medicines in the camp.

In addition, awareness programmes on patriotism, disaster preparedness, and fire safety were also conducted. The event included discussions and hands-on training sessions on health issues.

Among others, members of the River police, Department of Fisheries, Forest Department, local teachers, students, and people from all walks of life actively participated in the workshop.
