RANGAMATI, Oct 2, 2025 (BSS) - Brigadier General Mohammad Nazmul Haque, commander of the Rangamati region, said that peaceful coexistence is a significant characteristic of Bangladeshi culture.

“Unity, not division, is the nation's strength. In Bangladesh, people stand by one another, sharing joy during festivals, regardless of religion or caste,” he said.

The commander made the remarks while talking to reporters after inspecting the Puja Mandap at the Tabalchhari Raksha Kali Temple in the district.

This year's Durga Puja in Rangamati is being conducted in a highly festive atmosphere, he added.

The commander mentioned that there was a conspiracy to sow division among different religions, castes, and communities through violent incidents that recently occurred in Khagrachhari and Guimara.

He stated that such attempts were unsuccessful in Rangamati. Instead, Durga Puja is being celebrated in an environment of peace, harmony, and brotherhood, he added.

He expressed hope that this trend will continue in the future.

He clearly said no terrorist activities will be tolerated in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

He reiterated that the people of Bangladesh are peace-loving, and the country maintains a beautiful tradition of religious harmony and brotherhood.

The commander exchanged greetings with the Puja Mandap leaders and subsequently inspected several other Puja Mandaps throughout the city.
