Mother, daughter killed in Sitakunda accident

CHATTOGRAM, Oct 2, 2025 (BSS) – A woman and her daughter were killed today when a Dhaka-bound Mahanagar Express train collided with a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Moulvibhara in Sitakunda.

The victims were identified as Maksuda Begum, 45, a resident of Boro Kumira Bazar in Sitakunda upazila and her daughter Sanjida Sultana, 25. 

Ashraf Siddiqui, in-charge of Sitakunda Railway Police Outpost, said the auto-rickshaw was struck by the Dhaka-bound Mahanagar Express as it was crossing the rail gate, leaving both mother and daughter critically injured.

They were taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital, where on-duty doctors declared them dead.
