NETRAKONA, Oct 6, 2025 (BSS) - A farmer was killed in a lightning strike at Joypur village under Mohanganj upazila of the district today.

The deceased was Awal Hossain, 48, son of late Wahed Ali of the same village.

Lightning followed by a rainstorm hit Awal in the afternoon when he was returning home from field near his house with cows, said Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohanganj Police Station Aminul Islam.
