BAGERHAT, Oct 8, 2025 (BSS) - A school teacher was killed in a road accident on the Bagerhat Signboard-Boggy regional highway in Kachua upazila this morning.
The deceased was identified as Asadur Rahman, 35, a school teacher, residing at signboard area of Kachua upazila of the district, inhabitant of Satbasu village in Kaliganj upazila of Satkhira district.
The accident took place at around 8 am when he was hit by a Dhaka-bound Dola Paribahan bus while riding a motorcycle side leaving him critically injured. He was heading towards his school, said Kachua Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Shamim Ahmed Khan.
He was rushed to Bagerhat 250-bed Hospital, where on duty doctor declared him dead.
The bus plunged into a roadside ditch, and the driver and helper fled the scene.
The body will be handed over to the family after the post-mortem examination and legal proceedings, OC added.
