Robbery accused arrested in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, Nov 5, 2025 (BSS) – Members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested an alleged robber from the Halishahar area in the city.

The arrestee was identified as Md. Saddam Hossain, 32, a resident of Lalmohan in Bhola district.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-7 conducted a raid in the Nuruzzaman Nazir Bari area under Chandgaon Police Station and arrested Saddam. Later, he was handed over to the police.

According to RAB-7 Senior Assistant Director (Media) ARM Mozaffar Hossain, the arrest was made in connection with a robbery incident on July 21, in which a gang of robbers looted goods worth Tk 19,82,200 and cash from a Dubai expatriate named Mohammad Shamsuddin while he was on his way from Chattogram Airport to the AK Khan bus stand in the Link Road area.

A case has been filed with Halishahar Police Station against three to four unidentified persons in connection with the incident.
