One held with looted police weapon in Munshiganj

MUNSHIGANJ, Nov 30, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Army has arrested a man with 
a shotgun looted from the Munshiganj Sadar Police Station during the July 
Uprising.

The detainee, KM Sohel Rana, 46, is the son of Daulat Master of Amghata 
village in Sadar upazila.

According to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Army's Munshiganj Sadar 
Army Camp, a team conducted a raid across different areas of Mollakandi union 
around 7 pm on Saturday based on secret intelligence.

During the operation, Sohel Rana was arrested with a shotgun from the 
Anandapur area of Chardumuria.

The army team also recovered one cartridge from the house of Ratan Dewan in 
the Ashuran area of Mollakandi union. Authorities confirmed that the seized 
shotgun was one of the weapons looted from the Munshiganj Sadar Police 
Station during the July Uprising.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station M Saiful Alam said a case has 
been filed against Sohel Rana in connection with the incident.
