Tea shop owner’s body recovered in Gobindaganj

GAIBANDHA, Dec 4, 2025 (BSS) - The body of a tea shop keeper was recovered from Ramchandrapur village under Horirampur Union in Gobindaganj upazila this morning.

The deceased was identified as Mohidul Islam, 48, son of Nozir Sordar of the village.

Family members said Mohidul ran a tea stall at Shibpur Bazar in the union. He left for his shop on Wednesday but did not return home, prompting his relatives to search for him.

Early today, locals discovered his blood-stained body abandoned in a part of the village and called the police. Gobindaganj Thana police recovered the body and sent it to Gaibandha General Hospital for autopsy.

Officer-in-Charge of Gobindaganj Thana, Bulbul Islam, said Mohidul appeared to have been brutally murdered by stabbing, as his body bore multiple injury marks. 

He added that the motive behind the killing has not yet been determined and that police are investigating to apprehend the culprits.
