DMP files 2,019 cases for violating traffic rules

DHAKA, Dec 04, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 2,019 cases across the capital for violating traffic rules.

The DMP Traffic Division filed those cases during a regular drive on December 3, according to a press release issued today. 

It said the DMP traffic police dumped 357 motor vehicles and towed 189 vehicles during the campaign. 
The DMP’s release further said these drives against traffic rule breakers will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets. 

During the drive, Motijheel traffic division filed 293 cases, Wari division registered 268 cases, Tejgaon division filed 211 cases, Mirpur division filed 221 cases, Gulshan division filed 373 cases, Uttara division registered 332 cases, Ramna division filed 120 cases and Lalbagh division registered 141 cases against motor vehicles as well as three wheelers and motorcycles.
