3 business establishments fined in Magura

MAGURA, Dec 4, 2025 (BSS) - The National Consumer Rights Protection Department has fined three business establishment in Sreepur upazila of the district for selling expired products, storing food items in unhygienic conditions and failing to display price lists.

A mobile inspection team from the district office conducted the drive at Langalbandh Bazar from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm on Thursday. The operation focused on shops dealing in edible oil, rice, fertilizers, pesticides, groceries, and other daily consumer goods.

Assistant Director of the district office Sajal Ahmed led the drive and later confirmed the details of the enforcement action.

According to officials, Amal Kundu, owner of M/s Ma Kali Store, was fined Taka 5,000 for multiple violations, including selling expired products and failing to maintain proper hygiene or display price lists. For similar offenses, Asim Kumar Knduu, owner of M/s Anant Kundu & Sons, and Amit Kundu, owner of M/s Amit Store, were each fined Taka 5,000.


District Agricultural Marketing Officer Md. Rabiul Islam and members of the district police assisted in conducting the drive.
