3 women killed in Cumilla road accident

CUMILLA, Dec 4, 2025 (BSS) - Three women were killed in a road accident on the Karikandi-Charrajapur road in Titas upazila of the district on Thursday.  

The deceased were Rina Akhter, 35, wife of Shukkur Ali of Karikandi village, Rujina Akhter, 30, wife of Emon Mia and Shamshun Nahar, 40, wife of Faruk Mia, of the same village.

The accident took place at 12 noon when a truck fell on the women while they were taking bath in a canal adjacent to Titas river.

Rina and Rujina died on the spot and Samshun Nahar was rescued by locals and taken to Titas Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared her dead.

Titas Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Khaled Saifullah confirmed the incident.

The bodies have been handed over to the family members.
