GAIBANDHA, Jan 26, 2026 (BSS) – A truck helper was crushed to death under the wheels of a loaded truck in Dui Mile area on the Gaibandha–Palashbari road of Sadar upazila here this afternoon.

According to police, several loaded trucks were parked along the roadside at the time of the incident. The victim, a helper of one of the trucks, was reportedly sleeping underneath the vehicle. At one stage, the truck driver started the engine and moved the vehicle without noticing the helper beneath it, causing the truck to run over him.

The helper died on the spot.

Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station Md. Abdullah Al Mamun confirmed the incident and said that necessary legal steps are being taken in this regard.
