Climate awareness workshop held in Khulna

KHULNA, Jan 29, 2026 (BSS): A day-long climate awareness workshop was held in Khulna on Wednesday, highlighting the growing risks of climate change and the need for coordinated action to address loss and damage.

The workshop, organized by Association For Development Activity Of Manifold Social-work in association (ADAMS) with Germanwatch, brought together government officials, academics and climate experts who stressed that the southwestern region of Bangladesh is highly vulnerable to climate-induced disasters.

The day-long workshop was held at the ADAMS auditorium under Daulatpur Thana in Khulna city.

Additional Divisional Commissioner (general) of Khulna Abu Syed Md Monjur Alam attended as the chief guest.

Executive Director of ADAMS SM, Ali Aslam, presided over the function. Associate Professor of IDM of KUET Dr Anjum Tasnuva, presented the key-note papers at the programme.

Speakers underscored the importance of multi-actor partnerships and long-term policy planning to protect lives, livelihoods and the environment in the climate-affected coastal areas.
