CHUADANGA, Feb 22, 2026 (BSS) – To keep essential commodity prices affordable during Ramadan, the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) has launched sales in Chuadanga, official sources said today.

According to reports, the program began on February 17 and will continue until March 12. Sales are being conducted across the district’s four upazilas – Chuadanga Sadar, Alamdanga, Damurhuda, and Jibannagar.

Over the 20-day period, sales are planned at 111 points, targeting 44,400 beneficiaries. Every day except Friday, five mobile trucks operate from morning at designated locations.

Each package includes 1 kilogram of sugar (Tk 80), 2 kg of lentils (Tk 70 per kg), 1 kg of chickpeas (Tk 60), 500 grams of dates (Tk 160), and 2 liters of soybean oil (Tk 115 per liter).

However, many residents have faced inconvenience as they are not always informed in advance about the mobile truck locations and schedules.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Nayan Kumar Rajbanshi said necessary announcements would be made via loudspeakers in the respective areas when required.

Consumers expressed relief at being able to purchase essential commodities at lower prices during Ramadan under this TCB initiative.
