One held with 3. 90-kg heroin in Sirajganj

SIRAJGANJ, Feb 23, 2026 (BSS) - Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) 
arrested an alleged drug trader with 3.90 kilograms of heroin during a 
special anti-drug operation in the district.

The arrested individual was identified as Md. Ismail Hossain, son of the late 
Ibrahim Hossain of Matikura village in Dinajpur district.

The operation was carried out around 10:30 pm on Sunday in Jamuna Bridge toll 
plaza area under Jamuna Bridge West Police Station, Major Md. Ahsan Habib, 
acting commander of RAB-12, Sirajganj, disclosed the information at a press 
conference this morning.

According to RAB sources, a team from RAB-12 conducted a drive based on 
intelligence information. During the drive, the team searched a truck and 
recovered the contraband drugs [heroin] concealed inside the vehicle. The 
suspect was arrested red-handed from the spot.

During initial interrogation, the accused reportedly confessed to his 
involvement in supplying heroin to different parts of the country for a long 
time. RAB officials said the seized truck was primarily being used for 
transporting narcotics.

A case was filed in this connection with Jamuna Bridge West Police Station. 

The recovered heroin and other seized items have been handed over to the 
concerned police station for further legal action.
