Motorcycle seized with 20-kg of ganja in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Feb 25, 2026 (BSS) - Police seized a motorcycle carrying 20 
kilograms of ganja during a routine drive this morning.

A police team led by Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gobindaganj Police Station Md. 
Mojammel Haque had set up a check post at the Charmatha area of the upazila 
town as part of regular patrol duties.

Sensing the presence of law enforcers, a motorcyclist attempted to flee when 
signaled to stop. The rider abandoned the motorcycle and escaped from the 
scene, he said.

Upon inspection, officers recovered a sack attached to the motorcycle 
containing 20 kilograms of ganja. The contraband and the vehicle were seized 
and taken into police custody.

A case has been filed under the Narcotics Control Act in this connection.
Police are trying to identify and arrest the owner of the motorcycle, the OC 
added.
