One killed, one injured in Gazipur road accident

GAZIPUR, Feb 27, 2026 (BSS) - A man was killed and another injured in a road accident in Cheragali Bus Stand area in Tongi of the district today.

The deceased was Alamgir, 45, son of Abdur Razzak of Fakirpara village in Badarganj Thana of Rangpur district.

The accident occurred when a Gazipur-bound passenger bus hit Alamgir and another person named Sahabul, leaving Alamgir dead on the spot and Sahabul critically injured.

Locals caught the bus, rescued the injured and sent them to local hospital.

Tongi Pashchim Thana OC, Md Shahin Khan said the body was sent to Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
