4 held in Baharul murder case in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Feb 27, 2026 (BSS) - Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested four accused in the murder case of Baharul Islam (50), a resident of Kholabona Nijhumpalli in Paba upazila of Rajshahi.

The arrests were made during a raid in the Purba Chandura area of Kaliakair upazila in Gazipur late Thursday night.

The operation was jointly conducted by Rapid Action Battalion-5 CPSC and RAB-1 CPSC.
 
The four arrestees are Md. Milon alias Milu (52), Md. Suman (19), Kawser Hossain (25), and Md. Milton (30). All of them are residents of the Kholabona area of Paba. The information was confirmed in a press release issued by RAB-5 on Friday afternoon.
 
According to RAB, driven by prior enmity, the accused entered Baharul’s house on February 14 and attacked him with a sharp weapon (hasua), leaving him critically injured. 

He later died while undergoing treatment at Rajshahi Medical College Hospital on February 16. 

A murder case was subsequently filed with the police station. The accused had been in hiding since the incident.
 
After their arrest, the charge-sheeted accused were handed over to Damkura Police Station in Rajshahi, RAB added.
