Five women receive 'Indomitable Women Award' in Mymensingh

MYMENSINGH, March 3, 2026 (BSS) - Five extraordinary women from Mymensingh Division were honored with the prestigious "Indomitable Women Award-2025" for their exemplary contributions in various fields at the grassroots level. 

The awards were presented by the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs in recognition of their relentless struggle, courage, and empowerment, serving as powerful role models for others.

The colorful ceremony was held at the historic Language Martyr Abdul Jabbar Auditorium in Mymensingh city on Tuesday morning where Divisional Commissioner Farah Shammi graced the event as the chief guest. 

Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Kazi Ziaul Baset presided over the event.

Special guests at the programme included Superintendent of Police Salahuddin Talukder, Additional Deputy Commissioner Lutfun Nahar, and Deputy Director of the Department of Women's Affairs Nazneen Sultana. 

The speakers emphasized that the honorees had not only overcome significant social challenges but had also set a remarkable example of perseverance and success, empowering other women to follow in their footsteps.

The awardees were recognized for their exceptional achievements in diverse fields:

Nurun Nahar Akhter: honored for her journey toward financial independence, setting a powerful example of self-reliance

Umme Rakiba Jahan: recognized for her achievements in education and employment, paving the way for other women in the region to pursue their dreams

Hasna Hena Bari: awarded for her success as a mother, demonstrating the strength and resilience required to balance family life with personal growth

Nasrin Begum: celebrated for overcoming the traumatic experience of abuse and transforming her life into a story of triumph and 

Tahmida: acknowledged for her significant contribution to social development and her continuous efforts to uplift her community.

In their speeches, the speakers highlighted the importance of such recognition in inspiring other women to rise above societal challenges and contribute to the advancement of gender equality and human dignity.
